~Cortland~I think Maine orchards produce the best apples. This is the time of year that I like to start eating an apple a day. We happen to live in orchard country, which means fresh apples are available for several months. I love baking with apples. Apple crisp, apple pies, a family favorite~Jewish Apple Cake, apple sauce. For cooking, baking and eating I adore Cortlands.
~Granny Smith~Granny Smith is also great for baking and eating. And who can resist that glorious color?
