~East Wing~
Well, here is the final phase of the small illustration. This was one of my favorite views of the home, just this one end. I drew this by memory and sent it along to one special guest.
Recently many parcels of this fabulous property have been sold. I took a ride to the estate on Easter Sunday and found is so different from my years spent there .
There are a couple of new owners and the main house is under a massive renovation. I may try to sneak down there this fall and snap a few more pictures.
I do hope they are all well loved, because they have given much happiness to so many.
Now I want to live in that house!! You're really good Debra...love your work A LOT!
ReplyDeleteAnd of course I'm just here to wish you a nice weekend, XXX, Carmie.
I've enjoyed your story for the past few days, along with seeing your artwork. It's amazing how much gardening it took you to plan and work on this estate. You must have taken alot of joy looking at your labor of love. Your artwork is great, and thanks for sharing this insightful story.

What a wonderful story about a grand home and a lifestyle. That property was a huge responsibility and I can picture the gorgeous and colorful plantings about the grounds. I will check back with you to see what happened to the beautiful greenhouse that arrived in pieces...... oh yes, and what kind of tennis court did the property have?? Have a wonderful weekend, Debra!!
