For those of you that are visual folks, this may be a bit of a boring entry. I'll use a colorful font~ that may help! You see, camera-man is due tomorrow, and until then there will be no photos.
How might I keep your attention or share anything worthy of the time spent perusing blog land- which we all know can turn into a significant amount of time...
I am alone for a few days- which is perfectly lovely. Hubs had to go out of town until Thursday and although I do miss him when he's not here, I do love my alone time. I'm on no schedule, I give no thought to meal prep and I can be incredible lazy if I so choose.
It's a beautiful, clear, sunny day here in Maine...did I mention that it is minus 8 degrees?
So I think today will be one of sheer laziness- a little reading, a little painting, early to bed for more reading. I do love time to myself. It's a special time of reflection for me. A time that I can put things in order and re-energize.
When you find yourself alone for a day or two {or an hour or two}- what are your favorite things to do? I'd love to hear what you enjoy doing when you have a 'time out'.

When I find time for myself, I turn to my "wish list" and try to accomplish that and anything spontaneous. I hear you on the mealtime thing. Good to reflect. I give thanks for the quiet time.
ReplyDeleteReally precious moments.
ReplyDeleteI'll be happy with "warm-ups" {a friends words for left-overs} of onion soup.
D~
Enjoy your quiet time, Debra! I usually read or try to do some reading and some "catching up" that is hard to do with the boys underfoot.
ReplyDeleteI know your days are full. Even an hour of quiet time is a real joy.
ReplyDeleteD~
Gosh. a "time-out" sounds wonderful... I'd have to say reading with a cozy blanket. (Preferrably outside :)
ReplyDeleteTime alone? I like to sit in my lazy girl with a warm blanket, and watch a good movie while knitting a hat - throw in a vodka tonic and I am in Heaven!
ReplyDeleteLauren~ That sounds really nice~ and then your eyes start to feel heavy and sleep comes, warm summer breezes- Oh spring and summer seem so far away. Thank you for sharing a nice thought
ReplyDeleteSo glad you came by.
Debra
Rachel~ Ahhh yes~ a good movie, a warm cover and some sort of toddy. I'm there! Let's add a nice fire to the already comfy setting-shall we?
ReplyDeleteSweet Dreams

A total vege out for me Debra - as you know MOTH keeps me on my toes pretty much! A bowl of muesli for dinner + a couple of glasses of wine make for an interesting & yummy combo. Also gives my intercostal muscles a rest from laughing at all his renovating 'mishaps'!
ReplyDeleteMillie ^_^
Deb- I enjoy a little alone time too. I either read a book, go out for dinner with a friend, watch a movie and simply hang with Kelly. It is funny because it is only my love, Kelly (my other love) and me, but when my love is on a business trip it is like a game when the cat is away the mice will play and I basically just veg. LOL... Enjoy your "me" time.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your alone time, Debra, and thanks for the nice comments, as always!
ReplyDeleteAlone time...great question! I forget sometimes what it's like. I usually watch indie films from netflix, or meet friends in the city for lunch or dinner. I sleep in the middle of the bed ;-)
ReplyDeleteJoyce~ A little "when the cats away..." is always a good thing!
ReplyDeleteAnne~ I am enjoying this- it's going by way too fast though.
Heidi~ Meeting friends for lunch- now that's an idea for later- thanks!
I love a time out. They are so rare. I like to read or play music or watch Pride and Prejudice for the 1000th time!
ReplyDeleteTime out is such sheer luxury isn't it. I am with you Debra - reading is my choice. Thank you for your lovely comment on French Essence, xv.
ReplyDeleteKwana~ Yes a good movie is such a treat during a "time out". Maybe tomorrow with the snow coming.
ReplyDeleteD~
Vicki~ You had a really nice 'time out' this past weekend, didn't you? Those are the best time outs.
