Take Care of Your Things... February 3, 2009 No. 25

When I was young, my Mother always said, "take care of your things".
In a couple of weeks I'm heading to the south shore of Massachusetts for a get-away with friends. I did this little sketch of a nearby beach where we walk each morning. My plan was to make this into a small Valentine for each of my friends. That is, until my beloved standard poodle Lucca-decided it was her chew toy.
Never leave your things around~ was my lesson for today. Accidents do happen. Do you have a story to tell? Posted by Picasa

  2. Oh dear- Lucca wanted to add her mark to the drawing!
I think it can be salvage. What do you think about continue the tearing around the whole picture?
Are you doing just the one drawing and making copies?
If so, what about outlining (border like u did around the picture)the area "shark Lucca" took the big bite and add another paper behind the missing paper to make it whole and adding some kind of quote on friends (and dogs!)? I hope this makes sense I see it in my mind, but not sure I can put in down into words.

    Keep me posted. xoxo

  3. Yikes I'm sorry to see what happened!! I worry about that kind of thing all the time with my boys (water getting spilled on a camera, etc). Great cautionary tale. The sketch is lovely.

  12. And Lucca is certainly forgiven~ I can never stay cross with her for long. I think she just wanted some attention. Sorry about your bowl Pamela~

  16. sigh. I lost something very dear to me last week because of MY carelessness, not my dog's chewing. I have to keep telling myself that. I understand!
