I'm sure that for 24 hours I will be very attentive, supportive and willing to do whatever I can to make him comfortable. Just call me Nurse Nancy... or Maid Marion!
I am equally sure that in 48 hours he will be right-as-rain and ready to be up and about.
{The above image is not me....... and the image below... is NOT my DH's leg...}
I am admittedly very bad at this.

I had to take care of my boyfriend when he broke his leg/knee during a motorcycle accident. I think his favorite part was when I would give him a baby wipe bath haha. It gets really sweaty and hot when you're sitting in a bed all day.
ReplyDeleteSorry I hope hubby recovers quickly! I'm a good nurse for 48 hours after that I'm suck it up and move on....little or no patience! Good luck this weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh, I am so thrilled to see your inner "nursemaid" rise to the occasion through what I like to call a small "blip" in life. Now surely an outfit like that would make it all the more fun for the patient and perhaps one's patience too.

Good luck to you and the DH. Knee surgery can be tough but I'm sure he'll be right as rain in no time.
ReplyDeleteNo knee surgery is "minor" -- maybe for the doctor, but never the patient. Boy had ACL surgery several years ago and was helpless and needy for at least a week or more. I started out a good sport, but at one point was driven to a melt-down by the steady stream of "do this, do that, no don't do it that way, bring me this, bring me that". Florence KnightinReggie I was not. Do yourself, your DH, and your marriage a favor and get a nurse!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure your nurturing skills will help your DH recover quickly. Make sure you give him his pain medicine on time! :)
ReplyDeleteBeing a caretaker is really tough! Best wishes to both of you!! Don't forget to nurture yourself!
ReplyDeleteooh, hope all goes ok :)
ReplyDeleteOh no! I hope he feels better soon. I am a terrible, horrible nurse...I don't envy you. Now go get that wine :)
ReplyDeleteOoh Debra, I bet your DH will fake it a bit longer after he has recovered. I'm soo convinced that you're really good at it; The Nursing-Game. No, serious now, I do hope he gets well very soon!!! XXX, C.
