After a glorious weekend away- with lots of rest, relaxation, reading, delicious dishes and good wine... there is no place quite like home. Preparing dinner in your own kitchen, catching up on weekend events with family and friends and nestling in your own bed with a good book.
As nice as it is to get away and have no schedule, no plans and hours upon hours to relax~ there is nothing quite as nice as walking into your home and feeling incredibly happy to be there.
There's no place like home!
ReplyDeleteEverytime we return home from a day trip or longer, Allen always sings the verse from James Taylor "well, I say, isn't it nice to be home again."
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a relaxing time!
That is so very true! Enjoy home.
ReplyDeleteSo true! I always feel so lucky that we love to come back to our home even if we have just stayed at some fancy hotel ~ home is always the best!
ReplyDeleteDebra, I want to come to your house! That picture is so cozy and inviting. It is so nice to snuggle into your own bed after being away.... the is no place like home!! Have a wonderful day!!! PS Yes, I am getting very excited about the upcoming June 26 wedding of our son to the lovely Amy!! Her dress has arrived in Anchorage and it is hanging in "her" room...... so pretty.....
ReplyDeleteThis quaint photo reminds me of a clever e-mail that I received last year asking if I could water the plants while a friend was away, it was an interior of a courtyard with thousands of window-boxes fully loaded.
ReplyDeleteAs you scrolled down, there were several Italian women sitting. It made me smile, and I e-mailed my friend immediately and said yes. Those little ladies looked so proud of those blooms. A home is also something to be proud of and to return to. Often going away makes one realize just how special our home is.
