Today we had our first snowfall of the season. I immediately started cutting vegetables and making stock for a comforting soup.
Truth be told... I wanted to put in the Charlie Brown Christmas CD. I resisted.
This snow melted as soon as it hit the ground, but it did snow for nearly the whole day.

I like the above photo.
I found it via a google search of recent snowfalls. It was actually taken at a nearby pond. I love the pop of the bright yellow cottage against the white snow.

I am a comfy-cozy type of person. That house in the woods looks perfect...for me.
ReplyDeleteSo jealous even if it did melt! I miss Utah snow storms, I totally reach for the warm comfort foods and a blanket.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photo! On one hand I love first snowfall and on the other, I don't want to deal with the rest of the winter!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful picture. Wow, snow already. Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteI like the splash of yellow in the midst of the trees. I can't believe you already have snow. Oh pretty please snow fairy, would you mind staying away from my path until after Thanksgiving? Please... Instead of flying for our trip I wanted to take a car trip. I thought it would be fun, but now I'm not so sure. Smile...
ReplyDeleteHave a golden weekend. xoxo
PS I would love to cook for you anytime. Pinky swear.
We still have no snow. In fact it was 42 degrees and sunny yesterday! I was at the coffee shop and chatting up the sweet barrista who was grinding my French Roast.. we both agreed the snow would be fine up in the ski areas and not in downtown Anchorage!! I am going to make a pot of Moroccan Lentil Soup today in the Crockpot!! xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteStye: I have a raging stye on my left eyelid and am in the midst of putting hot teabag compresses on it to draw it out. Ouchy and itchy!!!
What a beautiful image, not that I am ready for snow yet here in KC!
ReplyDeleteHow picturesque, Debra! I would want to play the Charlie Brown Cmas CD, too! That's one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteOOooh yes, I could play the CB X-mas CD as well. Now I actually want it..I'll have a look in my CD box ;-)
ReplyDeleteAnd the image is amazing!! You did some good searching on google Debra. I wish you a great weekend, XXX, Carmie.
I was watching the news and thinking about all of my friends up in Northern New England. Happy First Snow. We have only had a dusting this year.
ReplyDeleteHow did your soup turn out?
Do I smell roasted chestnuts? That cozy home looks so perfectly tucked in, like a baby wrapped in a blanket.
