Sunday evening ~

~ ... or fresh raspberry sauce...~

Tonight we headed to the lakes region for dinner at The Village Inn. They are famous for the roast duck. I don't eat meat- sometimes a little chicken, but I could not pass up this duck. Cooked for hours and hours and the one I chose had a fresh raspberry sauce on the side.

My husband had been having a craving for this duck- but you know, the duck he prepares is equally as good. Still, it was nice to sit quietly, watch a small wedding reception outside and enjoy a well prepared meal.

I love Sundays- they are usually quiet, laid-back and a time to catch your breath and ready yourself for the week ahead. I hope that you had a pleasant weekend and are ready for whatever the week has in store.

  2. My Father always tells me to "Act like a duck and let it roll off your back" - Sunday is like that, a day to just "roll with it!" We were just talking about duck, and craving it....we have a small french bistro that we go to for duck...and for the beignets with chocolate pots.
    Heavenly.

  4. It seems like your had a relaxing evening, and a yummy dinner w/your husband - that's great! I agree about Sundays; they should be a relaxing day with no set chores or expectations.
    Have a great week, Debra!

  5. Hello Debra! Your Sunday sounded lovely and I checked out the restaurant. I have some ducks in my header today. They were swimming in a pond at Westchester Lagoon on Saturday. It was a sunny Sunday in Anchorage. Instead of golf, Ron joined our Sunday morning tennis group, and for dinner I made a fruit salsa to serve atop rockfish (that Amy brought us), salad and corn on the cob. Watermelon for dessert. Happy Monday!

  12. How was dinner? Mango salsa (on the t-shirt) sounds good to me. I too don't eat too much meat either, but being with the one you love... is the best dessert. xoxo
